Choosing the chosen ones

This is another track from the Seven Rivers Wild album, titled Choosing The Chosen Ones. Although this song has a message we feel strongly about, the actual video is mostly snippets detailing the past year of the band, life on the road in general, and a celebration of how much we love being musicians. Horns performed by Viktor Brobacke and Magnus Jonsson Szatek. Enjoy!

We also just released the full album on Soundcloud. Hope you’ll enjoy it! https://soundcloud.com/billymomo/sets/seven-rivers-wild-mixes

  1. I’m not always a big fan of snippet style video, especially when editors try to make bad dancing look good, but it really works for this video — that’s probably because you are not using the machine gun volley approach to snippets that assault your eyes with flashes of images like blipverts spinning on a mirrored ball under the influence of a strobe light like so many videos. Your snippets give the viewer time to enjoy the images for a few seconds — much appreciated. What I wasn’t expecting was the “Chicago” like sound from the brass. That took me back about 40 years, and I thought about Chicago’s song “Saturday in the Park”. Other than the tone of the horns, “Choosing The Chosen Ones” and “Saturday in the Park” do not sound a like, but to me there is a day in a life sense to both songs (but then you all may say “what the hell is this yank talking about?”). Whether intentional or not, the smooth tone of the horns works to ground the wild, slightly raw sound of Billy Momo. It works very well in my opinion. Great “unofficial video”.
